We have spent some time with our Operations Director, Samantha Welch. We’ve asked her some questions so you can get to know more about her role at Xenia Estates!

Tell us a little bit about your role…

My role as Operations Director is to ensure we provide leading standards of customer service while managing property assets for our clients to the highest level

How did you get to where you are today?

I have worked in property management for longer than I care to remember! My commitment to customer service and to supporting my team to do their best work has always been my priority whether that be in the social sector, with students or specialist accommodation for older people. I’ve also been very lucky to have had great mentors in my working life who helped me to develop my skills and knowledge over time.

How long have you been with Xenia Estates?

Only a few weeks though I feel right at home already

What would you say makes Xenia Estates stand out?

Our values are second to none and that is really important to me. I want to work somewhere that puts customers and clients first and foremost and that recognises the difference that living in a home that you love can make to your life. Xenia does just that.

What do you love about your role?

The best thing about my role is the interaction with people; I get energy from that and I love to learn about what makes people tick and what is important to them.

How do you destress or unwind?

I’m a bit boring really. I love to knit, I spend time with my family, watch rugby league & work as a volunteer with the Physical Disability iteration of the sport. I also love a good audio book.

If you could live anywhere in the World, where would it be?

I would love to live in Italy, anywhere really, it’s all so beautiful

What’s your favourite building in the world & why?

It would have to be the Colosseum. When I visited Rome and walked around a corner and saw it for the first time, it took my breath away. Of course, being a property manager I also couldn’t help thinking about how I would go about restoring it but it’s pretty amazing just as it is!

City life or Country life?

That’s a tough one but I would have to say country life – more relaxed and I love the feeling of community you get in a small place.
