Help us support Barnabus; Manchester’s Homeless Charity!

To help towards Barnabus Manchester’s mission to end homelessness, and help those who find themselves sleeping rough, get back on their feet; We are proud to be taking part in their Barton Tower Abseil on Saturday 24th June 2023.

Barnabus has been helping homeless men and women on the streets of Manchester for over 25 years! They offer help with accommodation, rehabilitation, practical support, healthcare, skills training, and links to employment opportunities, as well as a range of creative activities and volunteering opportunities including peer mentoring to build confidence, skills, and wellbeing.

It is a pleasure for Xenia to be taking part in raising money for this incredible charity!

Before the big event, we asked our employees why they have chosen to take part:

Gemma Latham – Director
“When you research the level of homelessness across Manchester, it’s staggering. It’s completely unrealistic to think the money raised via our challenge will solve the problem, but if I know we together can give a lifeline to even just one person, facing my fear of heights head on is worth it for the cause.”

Colin Hodkinson- Head of Property Management
“I’m really scared of heights, but I just can’t not support a great charity like this.”

Greg Lake- Service Charge Accountant
“In this time of increasing costs, it can be easy to forget the impact it’s having on those less fortunate than ourselves, I believe it’s important to help wherever I’m able, both for the individuals who are affected and those trying to help them.”

Benedict Lane – Compliance & Risk Manager
“I think the challenged faced by Manchester’s Homeless Community far out ways what this Abseil presents. Anything that I can contribute to help the situation will hopefully be a benefit – bring it on!”.

Adam Mallam – Property Assistant
“I’ve been wanting to push myself to do an abseil for some time, so when the opportunity came to take part and raise money for such a great cause, I couldn’t say no!”

Please help support our Xenia members; Gemma Latham, Colin Hodkinson, Adam Mallam, Benedict Lane & Greg Lake as they take on this 170ft abseil challenge to raise money.
